2012. The world falls into chaos. Natural disasters explode all over the globe. Chile gets hit by the biggest tsunami ever recorded. Earthquakes in Italy kill thousands. America is ravaged by tornadoes. People, for lack of better words, start panicking. Without food and water, and with a shortage in everything they're used to, they start turning on each other. Pockets of grueilla warfare which start blossoming worldwide turn into full-blown nuclear wars. Country against country, state against state, neighbour against neighbour – and even friend against friend.
2019. The dust has settled on an empty world. Life as we knew it is gone, decimated along with whole countries and cultures. Some called it the apocalypse, others called it Mother Nature’s revenge – but one things for sure, we’re all that’s left of a broken race. Radiation is now more than just a cautionary tale, it’s reality. Unless, of course, you are loyal to Better Living Industries (BL/ind), our very own resident mega-corporation who run out of Battery City. They control the population through pills and offer protection, comfort and sanitary conditions... at a price, of course – your emotions. Perfection is their only goal.
But there’s the Killjoys, bunches of badly-organised but passionate outlaws, considered terrorists by the majority of Battery City residents, but heroes by those against BL/ind. Colour, dust and regular shoot-outs make up the majority of their lives. They hide out in the zones, doing all they can to bring BL/ind down whilst being hunted down by BL/ind very special militia, the feared S/C/A/R/E/C/R/O/W unit. Their lives are as unglamorous as it gets, subsiding on canned dog food more days than not, weathering out acid rain storms and soaring temperatures. Is it worth it? Are they even making a difference? It’s hotly debated who’s wrong or right – both sides think they are, but is it just a hopeless war?
And will we ever have a resolution?
