The blonde ran. Tabitha didn't care who saw her, or who questioned her, she just wanted to run. Dressed in skin tight skinnies, a white cami, and bare feet, she passed building after building. All were a blur, but she still didn't care. She rather be anywhere else but home. Home. The word haunted her. How could she call that place home? Her mom was going through a drunken rampage, something she should have been used to, but she didn't feel like handling it this time. So, she decided to open the door and run. Anywhere. Obviously, her mom hadn't come after her. Sure, she yelled her name, but did nothing more. Later, when Tabitha returned, if she did, her mother would probably be passed out on the couch in their crummy living room.
Tabitha grimaced at the thought of it. Empty wine glasses on the floor, the smell of cigarette and weed smoke, the smell of alcohol, dirty carpeting would welcome her. Most of it was caused by her, she knew that, but she still didn't want to go back. Absentmindedly, Tabitha padded her pocket, the cigarettes were still there, along with a dime of weed in her back pocket. She had bought some earlier today, hoping to smoke it with a couple of friends, but that didn't turn out the way she wanted it to. With her mother being overly drunk and all...
A barking noise finally made Tabitha stop running. She was near one of the buildings that was home of a company she couldn't pronounce the name of. Something about selling cellphones, or some sort of electronic device. The barking got louder, making the blonde turn around. Sammy, her dog, came running up panting happily. It was then that Tabitha realized she was crying. Quickly, she wiped away the tears and smiled at her dog in greeting. Sammy barked in response, his voice echoing among the many buildings surrounding them. "Good boy." Tabitha praised, and started to scratch his ears. How could she have thought to leave Sammy there with her monster mother? She cursed herself for doing so, and cursed herself again for remembering the cigarettes and weed instead of her dog. Selfish, aren't I?
Tabitha got up from the crouching position she was sitting in, and looked around. She wasn't near any of her friends' houses. She frowned, knowing that she couldn't go back home. Or, more like she didn't want to. The memories of her mother welcoming her home with different sorts of desserts was a lie now. That mother was dead. The mother left behind was someone Tabitha didn't recognize, and didn't want to get to know. But something made her stay.. Someone needed to take care of the monster... To maintain it inside those walls in which it never left. Tabitha sighed loudly, and raised her hands in the air, hoping for rain... Getting wet would definitely not help her situation, but it calmed her, and she really wanted a bath.
With those thoughts aside... Tabitha really needed a place to crash for the night. Or for forever.
