"Aight, and by the way,it ain't strength that matters with a Lazer Blade, its skill. But I'll admit, you need good arm strength to slice through walls.Well, let's go!"Kuro hobbles out the front door.

Melissa rolled her eyes and rubbed her head as she tied her laces and followed her small friend. She cleared her throat, her hands in the pockets of her jeans and fondled her keys gently. "Skill may be the key, but I'm not skillful." Melissa smiled, touching a bruise she had attained some time in the night and hummed to herself.
A little while later, after taking some turns and a little trip through some rooms, Melissa opened a large, steel, door decorated in graffiti and allowed Kuro in first. The blonde woman followed him in and yawned, she wasn't as rested as she would have liked, but hey, nothing much could be done unless she abandoned Kuro to have a nap. And they had plans, so that wouldn't be happening. "So what did you want to look at first?"

He looked at what looked like hi-tech combat boots."Oooh, what are these?"Looking at the sign below them,he read,'sonic Boots:designed to allow the user to flashstep.' "Awesome!!"Not noticing the small print on the sign,he slips the Boots on and steps.Suddenly,he's at the other side of the room, face buried in a thick foam upright mat.Pulling back,Kuro rubs his forehead."Ow..."

Melissa leaned on her hip, resting her weight on it as she watched her white haired friend over excitedly examine a pair of shoes she could only assume had recently been brought out for use. If that, they looked more like they were just prototypes. Melissa ran a hand through her hair and chuckled softly, thinking that Kuro really was just like an over excited kid. It was cute in a sense, she still thought of him as a little brother though. Someone that needed protecting, even if they were somewhat tough by themselves.
As her friend began playing and using the shoes, Melissa leaned forward to read the tiny font most people chose not to pay attention to. Something that most people didn't even bother with. But Melissa had her moments where she thought ahead after a certain action had been performed. The sign mentioned something about the shoe's abilities not being one hundred percent perfected. The twenty year old turned to Kuro, and was about to tell him that the shoes were still a little glitchy when he landed face first in the padded wall. She laughed, and called over to him. "Kuro, you know the shoes aren't ready for use just yet?" Melissa was still laughing. "Are you alright, little man?"

".....That's why I hate small print..."Rubbing his reddened forehead,Kuro sits down, pulling off the sonic boots."Still,it was pretty awesome.Add some way to deactivate the function so you don't flashstep everytime you put your foot down, and you got a pretty useful item here,as long as you use it in wide areas."Grabbing his crutch,he levered himself up."Bother it all, wish this would heal already."

Melissa smiled and rubbed his forehead softly once she was close enough to do so. It didn't look too bad, and the wall he had hit was padded. So at most, she figured, he'd just get a headache. If that. Melissa continued to smile as she leaned back and rubbed at her arm. Parts of her cast had fallen off, and her arm was feeling pretty fine anyway. She'd taken a lot of painkillers. "The gym now, unless you want to continue playing around with stuff?" Melissa suggested, chuckling softly.

Kuro grinned."Naaw.Let's go hit the gym."Suddenly a lab-coated man with wild white hair bustles in.He glances at th boots."....Gimme dat!!"He snatched the boots from Kuros hands, glaring at him."You..didn't use these, did you?"Kuro nods. The scientist glances around."It did work, right? There weren't any glitches?"Kuro scratches the back of his head."Well,a deactivation and some sort of braking systems needed." The scientist's eyes light up."Of course!!I'll be right back!"Bustling into the next room, mechanical clanging is heard. In a few moments, the weird guy comes back out."Here you go.The brakes and deactivation button are added.Too brake just lean on your heels."Kuro glances at him."What's the catch?"The man blinks innocently."Whatever do you mean?"Kuro smirked."I'm no fool.Mo-one would give a kid something like this without a catch." "Alight, alright. You gotta keep those things in the downlow.I want to make sure they are of use in combat before I start mass producing them or whatever.Ands, you gotta agree to test to whatever I invent from now on.I'll pay you!"Kuro turns to Melissa."What you think,Mel?"

Melissa leaned on the podium the boots had been on as Kuro and the scientist conversed. She was taking in what they said, but didn't see any reason to interrupt or voice herself as she stood there. She just absorbed information and eyed the scientist uneasily. She knew that a lot of Rebels were out of their minds, and this wide eyed, old scientist looked like one of those people.
"What if he gets hurt? Are you going to help him, or are you just going to move onto your next guinea pig? If you're going to put my friend in danger, I want to see a consent form, and stuff, saying that you're willing to take responsibility if he gets hurt!" Melissa snapped, she loved Kuro, he was definitely like a little brother, and if she saw him hurt, she'd hurt whoever had done the deed. But she didn't want to have to do that, so she was going to act ahead.

The scientist nodded."I'll help him,of course!Hold on!!"He bustles into the next room again, coming out with a consent form and other legal papers."Here you go.As his parent or older sibling you should defiantly read over it.It has conditions for me and him.He only has to keep the gadgets in the downlow. That's the only condition for him."

Snatching the papers from the odd looking scientist, Melissa continued to lean upon the column the boots were home to. She wasn't Kuro's parent, or elder sibling, but she was considering herself as a carer, or something. She had virtually no problem with being considered family to the white haired boy though.
Melissa flipped through the papers, scanning through the information. It was convenient, the papers that were most important were marked so, and other things, like lists of legal rules and such, were just in italics. Snatching a pen from the scientist's pocket, she placed the papers down and wrote down her signature where the papers asked for a carer's permission. Then she asked Kuro to sign where he needed to.
Looking up to the scientist she hadn't bothered to ask the name of so far, she continued to uneasily tread water in this grey zone. "I want a copy of these papers." She finished, and once everything was done, she nodded down at Kuro. Giving her blessing on the subject.

Grinning, Kuro signed the papers as the sceintist bustled back into the other room for the copies. As he handed them to Melissa, he grinned."My names Corgi Gadget. I'll enjoy working with you --?" Kuro said,"Kuro Okami." The eccentric sceintist spotted the corner of Kuros lazer blade."M-may I see that?" Kuro handed it to him, eying him to make sure he didnt do anything to it.Corgi looked at it, nodding."Just as I thought..." Handing it back to him, the sceintsit waved goodbye as he bustled into the next room yet again, a intense light shining in his eyes.'..Alllrighty then." Picking up his new Sonic Boots, Kuro grinned at Melissa."Ready to train for Lazer Blade usage now?"

Tucking the papers she took from Corgi into her back pocket she looked down to Kuro. "Yeah, let's go." She smiled at him, before turning and waiting for Kuro to lead the way, once he was moving she was behind him, making sure not to step on his heels as she allowed her thoughts to drift from the oddball scientist they had just encountered. Instead she began to think of what Kuro was going to attempt to teach her. Melissa had never been very good with knives and blades, she had tried playing with a cooking knife when she was younger and had cut her ear. She still had the scar.
Still, not every time she played with something sharp was going to end in catastrophe.
A little while passed before the two of them entered the large, padded room. She sighed softly, her head was throbbing a little but she had said she'd at least try with Kuro's lazer blade and she was going to keep that promise.

Hobbling into the room, Kuro rumaged in the pile of practice weapons, finding a couple of flatedged knifes."Righto, Im not gonna teach you how to handle a Lazer Blade completly in all its stages, thatll take too much time, as in years. Im gonna teach you how to handle a Blade in its knife length, and hopefully teach you all you need to know in a few weeks. If you complete the training, you oughta be able to handle yourself in any knife fight, be it Lazer Blades or good hard steel. Now, like all stages, the knife style for a Lazer Blade is a mishmash of all the best knife martial arts developed from 3000 to the current year, which is why its so hard to learn. Push yourself, and you mighyt be able to learn most of it in six weeks." Grinning, he handed one of the practice blades to Mel."Lesson one:Dont let the edge of the oppenants weapon touch you, or your dead. Sheild yourself!" Kuro dashed forward, striking half as fast as he usually does with the practice weapon so Mellisa had a chance to gaurd herself.

Melissa looked at Kuro as he explained the workings and history of all things she didn't understand. Melissa felt as though she'd never grasp the concept of weapons and the like. She was a simple girl, working much better with guns. Because, well, guns were more practical. Someone had once referred to guns as the lazy man's sword. There was less risk in them, also. Hell, you could shoot from quite a distance off, which would allow for a better get away and a sweeter satisfaction. Guns, if shot in the right place, were generally painless too. Less guilt. That's how Melissa saw it, at least. It was satisfactory for her to feel less guilt when killing someone with as little pain as one could manage.
As Melissa thought to herself, she missed most of what Kuro was talking about and was now steering towards her with a speed and precision she couldn't match up to. Hell, she was only a beginner. Still, she managed to catch his last words on 'Lesson One', and quickly moved out of the way after dropping the knife the white haired boy had armed her with. "Crap!" She cried, bouncing into a different direction as her butt hit the floor.

Kuro stopped, grinning."Great! You have excellent reflexes.Looks like you have a chance of learning even faster."He cocked his head."Hmm..you wanna quit today? We can get started on drills tomorrow,if you wish.I need to visit my family's house, now that I think of it.I figure now that I have a home again,I better knab some of my things that I left behind when I became the Silver Wolf."

Melissa rolled her eyes. Great reflexes my ass, she thought to herself, standing and rubbing at her bum. It hurt, kinda. Well, it didn't, she was just checking up on it. No harm done. Awesome. Looking back to Kuro, she shrugged and smiled. "If you wanna head off to your place, I have no problem with tagging along. Unless you wanna go along on your own. I know how fussy people are. But uh, yeah, up to you, short-stop." Melissa shrugged, hushing her rambling and instead raking a hand through her messy hair. She was still a little tired but figured that wouldn't last for too long. Kuro seemed to have a knack for waking people up when he was around. Maybe it was his attitude, maybe it was his personality, she didn't know. She just knew it worked.

He grinned."Alright.I gotta warn ya though, the house..um..breathtaking."Crouching down to check his stitching,he nodded."Right, still holding up.Gotta love modern materials."Picking up his crutch,he hobbled off, only to turn back."Er,maybe you should lead till we get up top.The house is in the 'rich' section of the city."

Melissa shrugged and nodded, walking ahead of Kuro. She could lead him out of the Rebel HQ, and didn't really have an opinion on the location of his house. If his parents were well off, well done to them, but it didn't affect her and it wasn't going to affect her now. "So what sort of stuff are you going to get?" She asked, making small talk as she headed into the tunnels. They weren't in there for long before they emerged into the city. "Are we going by car, or what?" Melissa asked, rubbing at her arm as she waited for her friend. She didn't know if he was okay with walking long distances with his stitch and crutch. She pretty much figured that a car would be the smarter move, for both the way there and back. Especially if it was miles away.

Melissa nodded, heading over to an unattended car. "Sounds good." She worked the door, it was unlocked. Lucky. She opened it and got inside, opening the back door and waiting for Kuro to hop in. She worked with the wires until the engine was running, a low purr. "Come on little one." Melissa called to him, fiddling with the radio.
