Boredom, and the abandonment of Bam from sleep, had made Bam go walk about at three in the morning. He had ended up in some abandoned apartment block, though Bam couldn't remember where it was, but he knew he could get back to the Rebellion from here. He'd done it before... Currently, he stood on the balcony of the flat he used to live in...Before SMILE Institutes came along... Back when he was about fourteen... Then he lived here, with his brother and mother. Sometimes he missed those days... Actually, he constantly missed those days... But there was no point in looking at the past...
"Anyone can see that this is only permanent..." Bam mumbled and sighed, leaning on the railings. He shook his head at what a state the world had become and he put his forehead against his arms, that were crossed on the top of the railings. He closed his eyes before lifting his head and not doing anything while the cool air blew past softly, disturbing Bam's red hair a little as it did. He opened his eyes and shook his head again.
From behind him, Bam heard noises, though he assumed it was from the wind moving through the abandoned flat. His hand moved to his ray gun, regardless as to whether or not his assumptions were correct. They weren't usually...

WE ARE LIVING IN MISERY ,( but we have to hold on ) --------------------------------- Sleep was almost foreign to Jasper ever since he joined the Rebellion. Everyone was forced to stay on full alert, ever looking over their shoulder to make sure they weren't being followed by minions of the evil empire, SMILE. It wasn't an easy life by any means. In fact, Jasper sometimes wondered how he got roped into such a tragedy, and if it was really worth it to keep fighting such a long, miserable battle that surely had no end in sight. He sighed heavily, his feet trudging along the ruined city streets, dragging his small yet sharp pocket knife along the gate railing as a restless child would do. His eyes hung low, his heart heavy as he recalled his reason: he was in this for Emma, his daughter. It might seem like a lost cause now, but Jasper refused to give up on her. She was young, only two years old... the SMILE committee couldn't be so heartless as to kill a toddler, could they? Jasper shuttered at the thought, picking up his pace as if walking faster might help to escape such a nightmare.
His eyes flickered upward as the wind blew, brushing his hair past his hazel eyes. Despite this slight obstruction of his view, Jasper could see the faint outline of a figure, lounging on a gate. Immediately, he pulled his knife close to him, gripping it in his hand as if his life depending on it; in a sense, it did. He held his breath and approached cautiously, trying to find out who, or what, was ahead of him. As he drew closer, Jasper couldn't help but sense some familiarity about the distant figure. Yet he remained on edge, fearful of being mistaken. "It's a little late to be wandering around the city at night," Jasper said wearily, his muscles tense with suspicion. He didn't sound threatening or vicious, but firm, a stern warning to stay on guard. He had seen this boy before, Jasper was sure of it -- the kid's red hair stuck out like a sore thumb around the Rebellion base. Yet Jasper knew all too well to stay on his toes, just in case he was mistaking this young man for someone else. Though he kept his distance, his hazel eyes froze on the boy, who looked a few years younger than him despite their similar height. 'Trust' was something that hadn't come easy for him since SMILE took over, and so, he was determined to hold his guard until good reason was given to let it down.

Hearing a voice, Bam was now certain that the wind was not the culprit and he turned, drawing his gun and pointing it at the person as he did so. He gave a small laugh and a smirk fell onto his lips. His mind formed a reply and he answered, with a rather joking tone.
"It's not a little late. It's very fuckin' late." He said and cackled wildly. He kept the ray gun pointed at the man, boy, whatever he was, and his smirk, and cackle, dropped. "Who are you?" He asked, his voice demanding and his finger on the trigger. If this guy wasn't in the Rebellion, Bam would shoot him in the head, even if he was a citizen, that man would be going down... In the rather literal sense...
Hearing a creak from another part of the building, Bam was momentarily distracted, which would be bad if the boy was a member of SMILE Institutes... Someone from SMILE would drop Bam in an instant when he got distracted, so, when Bam realised he wasn't looking at the guy, Bam looked at him again and thanked whatever God was out there that it hadn't happened.
'27 seconds...'
If you're confused, 27 seconds is how long it would take for Bam to, normally, draw his gun and shoot someone. In fact, Bam counted every time now, and it really was 27 seconds. Though, in that time, he was sure that someone with a knife wouldn't be able to dive forward and stab you, so it was all good, really...
Shaking his thoughts away, Bam smirked at the boy and his finger squeezed the trigger slightly to let the other guy know that Bam would shoot him. He didn't have any problem with shooting someone... That was probably why he'd gotten so good at aiming...

WE ARE LIVING IN MISERY ,( but we have to hold on ) --------------------------------- Jasper's eyes widened immediately as the boy pointed his gun at him, feeling stunned by his welcome. This certainly was not the response Jasper was expecting. Perhaps it would've been better to just assume he was part of SMILE, and therefore kill him while his back was turned; but no, Jasper didn't have the heart to do something like that. He didn't murder at random. He barely had the stomach to kill members of SMILE, though he knew full well they were public enemy number one now a days, especially since he had a personal vendetta against every last one of them. And yet, Jasper was still often fearful of physically hurting anyone, which was why he found it so puzzling that this boy, a child, no less, was so eager to pull the trigger.
Jasper put his hands in the air in surrender, yet refused to drop his knife. If it turned out this boy was a part of SMILE, then it would certainly be a bad idea to fall defenseless."T-Touche," He stammered quietly, the panic evident in his eyes. Did this kid really have it in him to shoot? Jasper didn't really want to stick around to find out, but felt he might not be quick enough to escape without injury. Though speed and agility were, strangely, his strong points. Thus was why he often carried a knife over a ray gun. Honestly, Jasper was a pretty lousy shot. Perhaps he just didn't play enough video games as a kid, but he really didn't have the hand eye coordination to shoot a gun. So, he often chose to wield a knife, instead, as it was easier for his nimble body to handle. However, in situations like this, that strategy was known to fail him.
Though Jasper did his best to hide it, fear beat out of his chest like a drum, causing his face to lose color and turn pale. It was hard for him to mask his true emotion, something that worked as a disadvantage on his part. Everyone always knew what he was thinking, thus making stealthiness and sneaking around much harder to do. He took a deep breath and racked his brain for a way to figure out how to talk this kid down from killing him, especially if they were fighting on the same side. "My name is Jasper," He introduced firmly, doing his best to hide the shakiness in his voice.
"I --" He tried to continue explaining himself, though was cut short by another loud creak coming from behind the young man. At first, Jasper had shrugged off the noises, thinking them to be the wind. The buildings of this city were old, and known to have a few bumps in the night. However, the louder they became, the more suspicious he felt. He flinched at the sound of a loud bang behind him, though held his ground. Moving would probably be a bad idea, as he risked getting shot by this somewhat crazed young man. "I don't think we're alone..." Jasper said, his voice low as to not attract too much attention. His eyes flickered to the building nearby, then back to the boy himself, hoping he would be sensible enough to know that his gun was pointed at the wrong person.

The guy put his hands in the air and the smirk on Bam's face grew. He then heard the boy's name. Bam didn't know everyone's names in the Rebellion, but he was sure he'd heard the boy's name before... Then he heard the guy's words about thinking that they weren't alone and Bam nodded, agreeing with the other guy. He lowered his gun and ran his finger along the side of the barrel so that he wasn't about to do what he had done one time and shoot himself in the foot...
Bam moved slightly to one side and looked around. He turned and stuck his foot into one of the circles in the railings like he had done many times before, mainly when he and his brother had wanted to drop water balloons on people, and he looked around, his gun holstered and his hands gripping the top of the railings tightly. It was more to find out whether or not anyone was around than anything else, though it would give the red haired boy an escape route, should he need it. He then looked down at his feet to put the second one into a nearby circle and he leaned forward, his knees touching the metal along the top of the railing before he looked up and saw a figure duck into a window. Bam jumped backwards and a laser beam hit the railings.
"I think you maybe right..." He spoke and cackled manically before drawing his weapon and turning to look at the guy. He had no idea as to the man's thoughts on him, but Bam would be sure to have fun tonight... He did so like a good old gun fight...
Pressing his back against one of the walls, Bam acted casual while actually thinking about the building. He knew that every flat was set out exactly the same. Front door into the living room, then the bedrooms, normally two, on the left of the front door and the kitchen on the right. Two cupboards, then the bathroom. Opposite the front door, was the back door which led out onto the balcony. A couple of them had another bedroom, or one less bedroom...
Bam glanced at Jasper and watched the other guy. He wondered whether or not the other man would go towards where the noises were coming from or not... Here's hoping so, Bam would love to go with him... Would be very, very fun.
