The Judges sat behind their panels. Their grinning, robotic faces staring blinding in front of them. The call went out for SMILE members. "SMILE Members, to the Judges."The nervous entered first, probably wondering what was going to happen. But that wouldn't happen today... Only if they disobeyed... That would be the only reason that would happen to them. "SMILE Members, to the Judges."The call went out again. Now those that were in areas of the white institute further away from the Judges rooms came into the room. Most of them were more sure of themselves... A good idea. "SMILE Members, to the Judges."And again. Now the capturers and anyone who weren't inside the building, or near enough to get there earlier, entered the room. The calls stopped. "Welcome, SMILE Members." A robotic voice said and the Judges continued to stare blindly at the gathered crowd. "We have a problem.

Jonathan had been one of the last to enter the room and, when he heard the robotic voice, even the 56 year old felt a chill run down his spine. The grin that spread his lips, however, didn't drop at all... Even though his rather bloated cheeks always seemed as though gravity would make them drop...
'We have a problem.'
Jonathan was curious, now, until he realised the only problem that SMILE Institutes would ever have...
The Rebellion.
Now wanting to know what that damned group had done, Jonathan listened carefully. This could be fun, for him... Not for the Rebellion, though... But who really cared for them? No one from SMILE, he suspected...

Once again Darcy found herself inside one of the many SMILE Institute laboratories. Her mind working on a formula, while her hands had busied themselves jotting down anything she knew to be important. But just as she neared on of the last digits; the message calling for all SMILE members to meet echoed throughout the empty room. No one else was inside, but that didn't mean she was alone. Darcy, being considered an ‘unwilling’ SMILE mechanic; was never left alone while in the Institutes or even around town. She had to leave to get some time to herself. She looked up as the door, which could only be opened from the outside; slid inward. Darcy stood, not needing to be told what to do. No matter how ‘important’ her formula could be to the facility –as unlikely as her actually wanting to work for them- she knew she had to drop everything at this moment and go to the Judges. She silently left her work station and removed the small set of glasses form her eyes and into her white lab coat’s pocket. Darcy, though only being nineteen; had a mind that surpassed that of the average adult. Which made her a great asset for the company after her father became a nervous wreck. Yes. Darcy saw herself there after all this; a shell of the girl she once was, her intelligent mind reduced to nothing but a bunch of rambling. Unlike her father though, she wouldn’t have someone to care for her. When she became useless; her father and sister ceased to exist. Darcy recoiled at the thought, passing into the room where the Judges sat mostly emotionless. It wouldn’t do her any good to be fearful or defiant. She took a seat and looked around. How many others were like her? She didn’t suspect that there were many, since most appeared to enjoy their jobs with SMILE. But she couldn’t be the only one here by force… right?
Darcy shrugged the thought away and crossed her legs, her attire consisting of a modest purple button up, gray slacks, black flats and a large white lab coat. Despite her young age, she looked to be at least twenty-five. Especially with the severe twist that held her hair up tightly. Darcy suppressed the urge to fidget as they spoke, finding herself getting a little queasy. This always happened to her during the meetings. Her stomach churned and everything began to ache all at once when she took her seat. She wondered what the problem could be. Other than the Rebellion, SMILE didn’t have any other problems. The civilians feared them, and SMILE members wouldn’t dare to speak against them; so what was it this time?

(Any SMILE members joining after this post, please pretend that you've been there the whole time?)
The robotic voice boomed again, this time seemingly angered... As though they were programmed to be annoyed with what they were about to say... As though the words were as irritating to SMILE Institutes as what the words were about was...
"The Rebellion is growing. They are rising. The resistance is getting stronger."
The automated voice told the crowd and continued above whatever chatter there was from the SMILE members and it continued its words.
"The Citizens are turning quickly."
Now silence fell, if there was no silence before, and the robotic faces looked at the assembled crowd. Men, women, old and younger... The painted eyes saw none of them, but it was a nice change from that they normally stared at...
"This must be stopped."
Power was held with these words. The power of a restless leader. Someone who was desperate to keep control of a failing empire... A failing empire that hadn't really begun to grow, yet. Stopped by the on going war with the Rebellion.
The words stopped, now... Almost waiting for the crowd to settle again before speaking some more, before telling the crowd what could and couldn't happen... Telling them how to go about this...

Jonathan listened and nodded along. It was happening... It seems as though some people didn't want to register it until the Judges had confirmed what so many of the SMILE members already knew... The Rebellion were growing, and Jonathan was reminded of the fight he'd had with that Citizen...
'This must be stopped.'
Jonathan nodded along with this, knowing that it was the truth. The Rebellion couldn't rise. They would over throw SMILE Institutes and probably kill any SMILE members that they could find... Especially that Citizen and Napier... Napier didn't seem to care for any lives... Countless times Jonathan had witnessed the boy killing Citizens to get away from SMILE...
Now, Jonathan waited almost patiently to find out what should be done while the chatter around him rose a little.
"I can't believe this... We work our arses off..." A near by capturer spoke and Jonathan nodded, though didn't get involved with the conversation...

Try as she might to remain calm, Darcy couldn't help but shift uncomfortably in her seat. What did she have to hide? They all knew she was blackmailed into being on SMILE's side, so why try and deny her discomfort in the matter? Why should she refrain from fidgeting when she wanted the rebellion to win? She gripped her seat on either side of her tightly. Because of them. Because she had to keep her family safe. Her cooperation with SMILE offered her family what little protection she could muster. They were the only reason she worked hard to keep SMILE happy with her tools and sometimes the occasional weapon. But she wasn't her father. She wasn't a brilliant inventor who knew everything there was to know about nuclear physics. But she was the sane one between the two. Which was why she was the one sitting through this meeting, and her father was at home with her sister. Alice. The girl deserved to live in a world of freedom. Not in a world that tainted whatever innocence you had. Darsal knew only too well of this cruel world. Her attention snapped back to the room around her. Everyone in here had one thing in common for sure; they all feared SMILE. Darcy knew she couldn't help them and her sister at the same time. But she also knew, that without helping SMILE; her sister was as good as dead.

The Judge in the middle of the five robots looked at the SMILE member that had spoken.
"You did not work hard enough."
The voice sounded and the movements of the female member were captured, though no reaction was given. The middle Judge returned its fake gaze to the middle and nothing robotic moved for a number of minutes before the voice sounded again.
"The Rebellion needs to be removed."
This wasn't a suggestion, this was an order. A statement. An introduction to what had yet to be said. This was what they would have to do with the following words. They had to remove the Rebellion.
"The Laws have been changed. You may now kill on the spot. Departments 336257 and 227552 are now able to leave and help Department 752346."
The Departments that had been spoken of were the Guards of the cells, the Researchers, and the Capturers. The Judges went silent now. They then waited for a few minutes before adding.
"The following members will be taken out of their current departments and put into 752346."
The voice then proceeded to read out a list of names, and the members, mostly males as there were more males in SMILE, nodded. A couple of them looked shocked, surprised, and upset, though none of this registered with the Judges as they went silent again and waited for everyone to quiet down some before they would continue talking...

Jonathan listened intently, trying to not miss any of it. His grin grew as he heard that the laws had been changed, and he also heard that certain Departments would be able to help the capturers. Then a list of names were read out and Jonathan looked around, his grin nasty, wide and cruel. Now he wanted to know what else they would be told.
His curiosity wandered and Jonathan wondered if they would start having raids... Maybe they could try to find the Rebellion base? Just look for it? There had to be a HQ for the Rebellion... Where else would they all stay?
