Skipping down the tunnels of the Rebellion HQ, Bam wasn't paying attention to the world. He couldn't have even if he wanted to... Even if he tried... His mind wouldn't let him. It wouldn't allow him to know what was going on in reality...
It was too unstable...
Upon entering the center of the place, Bam looked up. Normally, the sixteen year old would see the grey ceiling, though it usually looked slightly darker, and the odd crack. Today, however, it was black. Black, almost velvety, dotted with the odd white dot. The odd, shining spot that twinkled at Bam as though inviting him to join them...
He didn't, though. Instead, he lay on the floor and looked up at the white dots. Stargazing... Even though it was the middle of the day, and it was underground...
Still not paying attention to the world, Bam didn't know if anyone was coming. He didn't know if there was anyone there staring at him... But he did know that he wasn't in touch with reality...
Not that he minded...
In fact, he hadn't been in touch with reality for the past week. No one noticed, of course, he was always a little bit out of it... Let's just say that the tip of the iceberg had plunged, and Bam's mental health was sinking a tad bit...
Okay, more than a little...
What had happened, was that SMILE had almost gotten their grinning, murderous hands on him... But, while getting away, Bam had accidentally shot a boy. A young boy. A seven year old. Bam had stolen a SMILE gun, not wanting to go back to SMILE, and basically shot the place up. It was unfortunate that the boy had been passing with his mother at that particular moment. Bam had fled, wanting to just get away, and had only stopped when he got back to HQ. He had then disappeared into the tunnels for a couple of days, until he left the darkness of the tunnels, having been haunted by nightmares because of him killing someone younger than himself, and he'd been pretty much torn from reality since then...
Now, though, he was lying underground, thinking that he could see stars... And who would really tear him away from such nice thoughts?
